Still taking a summer hiatus due to my mom’s unexpected death. Blogging will continue at some time in the near future.
Give a hug to those you love. You never know when the last time you see them…is the LAST time for a good while, at least until our Lord’s return.
While I’m slowing down my blogging, I thought this blog post on another website was really interesting for authors and creators of other products. We all know that if people don’t know about your “product” (whether that product is a book, a cog, or a movie), people won’t buy it. They can’t, because they don’t know it’s there.
But there also comes a point where over-saturation of marketing hype about you will hurt you more than help you. Here is an interesting blog post about such matters. This author makes a point to ponder.
While I am taking a break from most non-family activities, I just had to share this. It’s another funky news report that is enough to stir a novelist’s imagination. Just ponder on this as a premise for a novel and all the juicy plots that could ensue. How could you spin this into fiction, coming up with some pretty great (or scary) alternatives to this one tiny news story? Reality may be stranger than fiction, but coming up with lateral stories from life sure is fun.
Here’s the link to the article, “GPS trackers secretly placed in laundry detergent boxes.”
What kind of stories can YOU spin off of this one concept?
A little belatedly I post that I have felt the need to take time off for family. Not sure why. I just sense it. So in trust and for this reason, I am stripping a lot of activities right now from my life. I wish you the best in your endeavors as you love those who matter most to you.
[ADDENDUM: My mother died in surgery 25 days after this post.]
